Honey Lamb was there, even though Mrs. Dugas doesn't believe she really exists. Dave took pictures, we're still not sure if she believes him!
We were glad Charles Kuhlman from Marshalltown Iowa could join us in his Q-2. He was new to the group, but he seemed to fit right in! A few of our friends had mechanical or weather problems that prevented them from attending, but we look forward to seeing them next time.
There was a lot of food but because of the temperatures the ice cream Saturday evening seemed to be a particular hit with everyone! I was surprised how much water and iced tea we went through, but it was good everyone stayed hydrated.
Bruce Crain accepted the task of hosting next year's event. I hope all of you will consider putting it on your calendar and attending. The Quickie aircraft are very unique in the homebuilt industry, and their builders and fliers are even more unique!

Hi Everyone, I too made it back home safely, pulled in at SFO via Southwest late last night, and still basking in the memories of another great fly-in... i live all year long for these events, and reconnecting with our great friends and learning something each time is such a highlight for me. Laughs, learning, and levity, and all my thanks to Paul and Tama, and Terry and Kevin too, for all their help. Seeing Terry's Cozy project and the work on Steve Beert's LongEZ during a drive-out was a highlight once again. As was our fly-out lunch on Friday to Muscatine, we'll really have to do that next year too! And the barbecue and then the ice cream social were just what the doctor ordered, loved it all! Thanks all around too, to each and every one who made the trip to Davenport, either in their planes, or by car or by commercial, you just couldn't have a fly-in without people attending... very much looking forward to next year's event in Oklahoma, that will be great fun, thanks Bruce and HoneyLamb! Thanks for the tip Jimmy, but you gotta pay for that stuff and I am trying to save up for avionics. My wife gets free baked potatos where she works, so I am still eating :-) Hope you feel better quick.

Dave Dugas
Paul and Tama Thank you both for hosting the fly-in for a second time. Everything was perfect, the weather, food, tee shirts, hotel transportation, and most of all seeing everyone who attended. Rod and I had great flying weather for the entire adventure, out and back. That never happens, at least not to Rod and me. We made a visit to Penn State on the way home, to visit a friend, and arrived back at KORE around 2:00 this afternoon. I hope everyone else arrives, or has arrived, back home safely. Already lookin’ forward to next year. Rod had a great time as well, and he asked me to say “thank you” for him. Dave D.

Thanks Bruce and Honey Lamb for volunteering for next year. I definitely have it on my calendar and I like the fact that it keeps moving closer to me. We should be able to talk Paul Spackman into coming, and Lynn French too. Who knows, maybe even some of the west coast crowd...hint...hint. On the home front, Jerry's genius is about to be usurped by Sam Hoskins genius. I have cried uncle on sanding undersides of wings. I finished filling, sanding and fill-priming the upper surfaces of all wings, and I am now prepared to pay some homeless guys to be my friends for 15 minutes and help me turn my plane over tomorrow afternoon. Then I can finish those undersides then transport it for final prime, one more light sanding, then shiny white urethane. I am being overtaken by excitement, and thanks to no body showing up to help sand, my upper body is getting really pumped! Cheers, Jay Scheevel, Tri-Q, still building |

Sounds like it was great fun for all. Such is my luck. Wish I could have made the trip, but the weather turned out just as the forecasts had predicted. Getting out Saturday morning would have been no problem, but I would still have been stranded somewhere right now as it has been raining throughout the day. We have had 2.6” since Saturday noon. Guess plane and pilot will need to get IFR upgraded.
At any rate, thanks to Paul and Tama and all who make these fly ins so special.

Thanks for the update, Paul. I am sorry that I missed it. I feel like I have no excuse since Nancy drove Jerry all the way there...What a dedicated effort!.
