Looking to buy a Dragonfly #Q-Tour

Fredd Baber

Good afternoon!

First time posting.  I’m looking to buy a Dragonfly and wanted to know what the pros and cons are.  Any “gotchas” I need to be looking for?  The workmanship is really top notch.  I just don’t know much about the plane other than they look really cool.  Thanks in advance!!

Fredd,

I have looked at 3 so far in my search.  The big factor for me after workmanship is empty weight and gross weight.

There is also a Dragonfly group on groups.io that you should join.  I would suggest asking the question there.

Link to the IO group. Fredd.. I am member of both camps because my project is known a "Frankenbird". Structurally a mix of both Q and D-fly.

There are a few items to look for. It might also help to send photos if you can of what you have and if it has flown before, the registration number.
The number might trigger memory of the specific aircraft and builder.

I also have a frankenbird and it is for sale. Flown 165 hours. Build quality is good but I can say it is top notch. If interested im asking $11,500. I bought a new Zenith 650 that fits my needs and passengers better. I just want it gone and 1 less hangar to deal with.
