I have not tried it Ben, but Lightworks does accept many formats, although some are only in the paid for version.

Thanks Rich.  I'm told that the GoPro 360 video format is proprietary so only their software works (for extracting to a more standard format).

Hi Jon,

I have been using Lightworks for editing my Go Pro vids  from my Hero 7 and works a treat.

I found the Go Pro software hard work.

Thanks Phil!  Good to hear - keeping working!!! :-)

Like most everything else these days, difficult to know what might be happening at GoPro in regards to an updated Max but I suspect they have one in the pipeline.  I'm pretty happy with the camera itself but often wish the accompanying software (GoPro Player) was better/easier/faster/smarter.  It would be particularly helpful if they added a "Create Award Winning Video with Awesome Music and Voiceover" button. ;-)

Hello Jon:  You are awesome. I have been holding off on buying the next generation 360 camera and now Insta 360 X3 has been released. Looks pretty cool. Wonder what and when GoPro up-revs their 360 MAX. I have my “other plane” rudder pedals out and have done the “before next flight” gusset mods and new Matco Master cylinders so need to get upside down and backwards to get that all installed. Sorry, folks, this was a comment not related to Quickies but the “other”airplane. Remembering those license plate frames that say “my other car is a “bla bla bla”. Well, my other plane is a “bla bla bla”

We had a fabulous monsoon season this year and this video shows a bit of it. The low-lying areas in this vid are at about 6,500' MSL. Believe it or not, the higher stuff is ... higher. :-)

Thanks Paul and Jay!

Yeah... with all the fame, it seems I have a number of copy-cats out there pretending to be me.  Be sure to ask for the verification phrase ("Thunder Quickie"). 😉

Very sweet, Jon. With the late season “greening” it looks a lot like some of the areas I worked in West Africa (Angola and Zaire, now DNC). Very cool!

Cheers,

Jay

I have been dragging my feet on starting my annual condition inspection (actually only due by end of November), so I took advantage of two days this weekend of beautiful calm, cool autumn weather to go fly around with no particular thing to do or place to go. This was the first “standard day” we have had since the spring where density altitude matched up with MSL altitude.

I did not take any video or photos to share, although I should have done so, since the cottonwoods have all changed to yellow, and the low shadows on the red rocks against the green and gold river bottoms are very impressive, but I got selfish so just lollygagged around up there with my hands on the controls. Here are a couple of track logs, so you can see how much fun I was having.

To those of you building: Get going, you will not regret it. To those of you with planes that fly: go fly, you will not regret it.
