Finally got my first flight of the year.
The weather was just too good not to aviate. When I departed, I flew over the house at about 500 to let Sandy know I was up in the air. Headed south with no particular place to go, I haven't been flying since October.
The scenic shot shows the town of Cairo, Illinois and the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. Illinois is in the foreground, Kentucky at the left, and Missouri is on the right. The engine ran great, though I'm sure the prop could use re-balancing. I have to say I greased the landing like I can't even remember when. Fun time. Take care, Sam Q-200 2,115.8 hours (Pattillo is catching up fast) |

Very nice, Sam. Glad you took advantage of the good weather. I am enjoying the view!

Been foggy here for a week. Some late afternoon clearing, but temp and dew point have been the same. 100% humidity. Even at 19F! Oh well it will get better. Hope I make a good landing too Sam. Thanks for the report! Kevin On Jan 10, 2023, at 4:03 PM, Sam Hoskins <sam.hoskins@...> wrote:

Hi Dave,
Happy Winter to you in the NorEast! I was thinking of you when I posted that parody music video with the old C-150 on it!

finally got my first flight in on ground hog day. Due to my travels and wife’s medical issues and a little weather I put 25 minutes in on a near perfect day followed by an uneventful landing with a 7 knot cross wind. I went out east flew through a couple of passes . The picture is looking across lake mead to the Vegas strip in the distance. hope to get some flying in this year mike Neidenthal. Q200. 200QK |

Wow, what's the visibility distance? Mike Dwyer

The strip is probably close to 20 miles and to Mt Charleston ( snowy peaks) another 15. I measured using ForeFlight. Pretty good vis!

Great Picture Mike, Reminds me of the flight we did in 2002 but without the ride of
the Valkyries playing as we headed to the strip. Thanks for sharing, fly safe. Rich T. On 02/02/2023 23:23, Mike via groups.io
