Battery quick connect plugs?

I found a little flaw in my electrical design which is how to attach an external battery charger.

I need some elegant way to run the battery lead outside in the tail.

Any plug suggestions?

Do I understand correctly that the tail will be attached with electrically activated latching?

No sorry that’s not what I meant. My problem is the battery is in the tail and so are the battery solenoids. I need a way to attach a charger to my battery without taking off the tail.

How about just running wire from your battery location up to the baggage compartment where you can reach them, and cap the ends until needed, uncap then and clip on your charger. Sometimes I attach to the battery solenoid also.

Robert,
I use these and you might be able to make secret hole for the exit.

Use a battery tender.  They have a cool plug you can leave laying in the tail then just plug in pulling the seat forward to access.  That’s my suggestion.

Robert-------------  On mine I have the battery in the back also, so I have  a couple bolts going through bulkhead on the fuselage.

From these the battery cables run to the engine and on the back side another set of cables attach to the bolts and go to the battery.

Easy to reach in behind the passenger seat and access the terminals.  Take care-----------------  Chris

I wouldn't make any quick disconnects here which can be prone to failure.. Especially since you have such an electrically dependent aircraft. Just leave yourself a little extra loop of wire so when you pull the tail back, you can get in there with a 3/8 in socket and undo it on your own.

Robert these are my battery connections in the tail. Two pins from the tail align with these holes. Attached also are my seats. Leather covers with fairly firm inner padding. image0.jpegimage1.jpeg
