Speaking of AV30's. I have a couple for sale. 50hrs on them no damage.

I called a friend at Uavionix yesterday and explained what was going on. He took charge of my problem right away, so hopefully I will have some news on this shortly. Andrew is the Director of Operations for Uavionix North America and a real nice guy. I will get to the bottom of this  

Other than the DG issue, I love these little AHARS.

FWIW, Garmin makes it clear in both the G5 marketing and the manuals that a remote magnetometer is required for DG/HSI functionality:
