In the mid 90’s, back when our internet connection was still pick up the phone, dial the number, put the phone on the modem type internet, I came across the Q1. I thought it was absolutely amazing!
In trying to find out more I came across Jon Findlay who was kind enough to share some of his time and info with a bright eyed enthusiastic but otherwise clueless kid. I think generous and legend are two words that sun up Jon from my memory! Well, 30-odd years later the kid got far less hair, hasn’t grown up a whole lot to be fair and, more importantly, now has a beautiful looking Q1 of his own! Got there in the end - even if it took 3 decades! It needs some work on the fuel system as well as a general going over. I’ll only have the time and space to do this later half of 2023 but what’s another years wait?!? Give me a bit of a kick to finish the existing build and get it out the garage Just wanted to say hi and reach out to Jon to say a big thanks Craig |

Not sure how to drop you a private note - so in the absence of that Jon - thanks for sharing your time all those years ago. I still have all the emails - or at least the keys ones - printed out and in a file. Not sure where that file is now but did see it a year ago as we packed up and moved house. It’s somewhere. Some VERY grainy black photos printed with a ribbon printer of some pics you sent me for inspiration. I just wanted to say thanks. Glad to see you still around and still involved with the quickies…  About 1/2 way through a Mitchell wing B10 build so need to crack on with that now to free up the space.. Thank you Craig! I really appreciate your kind words. The number of people in the Q world is small but the quality is very high! I've been thoroughly impresssed by MANY of them over my 30 year run. Obviously going back to Jimmy and all that he did to keep the dream alive but many, many others as well - too many to name - and I echo Craigs feelings. A very big thank you to all that have made this little family so great and so important to me. We just keep trying to pay it forward! I suppose that's part of the reason I keep trying to share the amazing sights and experiences - now via video. Not sure I'm succeeding (cause the talent level is incredibly low) but I keep trying.
